Kaylene Visits a Fire Station

Kaylene has always been amazed and has loved fire trucks and fireman. So when Jen and I found out that the Church was having an activity (for kids that aren't in school yet) to visit a Fire Station, we knew we had to take Kaylene. And boy did she love it. We had been telling her and as soon as we entered the fire station garage, she gave out a really big "WOW" with a smile on her face that couldn't

Christmas Party with Kaylene's Friends

Kaylene was invited to a special Christmas party at one of her friends house. They had lunch with lots of yummy things to eat and even cupcakes for desert, which Kaylene got all over her face (it was hilarious, you'll see). They also had a special visitor drop by: Santa Claus! Kaylene talks about Santa Claus all the time, but everytime sees him, she's not exactly sure what to think. Fortunately no

Trip to Washington DC

A couple weeks ago my sister Nancy called me and gave me a surprise for my birthday, a trip to Washington DC with her. I was blown away (to put it lightly) for such an amazing gift! We had 3 days to see as many sights as possible and probably saw 1 weeks worth in that time. After arriving really really late in DC, Nancy and I picked up our rental car and we were off to the hotel, however it was impossible

Lately Kaylene has been really into bubbles. My parents and Jen's parents bought Kaylene bubble making machines that do lots of fun stuff with bubbles. I was amazed with the colors and reflection these new bubbles make and thought I would take some pictures.

Kool Kaylene

Kaylene is always wanting to wear Mama's shades, so we went to the store and got a pair just for her (they were only 4 bucks). She likes to wear them all the time, especially in the car. So we went for a walk today and took some pictures of her wearing them really cool shades. Enjoy!

Kaylene Loves Jeopardy Theme Song

This is an older video that I just got around to publishing. I think the title says everything, but to add to what is said in the video, she doesn't behave like this with anything else and she even to this day gets excited when the final Jeopardy theme song comes on. It just means she's destine to be on Jeopardy someday!

Christmas 2008

As usual Christmas was chaotic, yet wonderful (how that makes sense, I don't know). We got a ton of gifts, especially Kaylene. It's a good thing we packed lightly and hadn't reached our max number of items for the flight back. I guess the biggest highlights were, Tony got Nancy a under water scubba scooter (not sure what there called) and she was shocked! Also, Nancy got Sherry's kids special backstage

Unexpected Snowy Fun

To say the least, we have been deluged with unexpected snow here in Vancouver. Jen, Kaylene and I had originally scheduled to fly out to the bay area for the holidays, but our flight was cancelled. We're now waiting to try and get another flight before Christmas day, wish us luck. In the meantime Jen, Kaylene and I have had a wonderful time playing in the snow. Kaylene is just soooo excited and mesmerized

Kaylene's 2nd Birthday

This year we did a little bit more for Kaylene's birthday than we had the year before, she's starting to remember things now! Jen had just gotten home from the hospital so we didn't have too much time for planning, but all of Kaylene's neighborhood friends attended. We decorated the downstairs while Kaylene was taking her daily nap and when she awoke, she was sooo surprised by all the balloons and

Halloween 2008

We had hoped to make Kaylene a big "Green Bean" for halloween this year (as that is what Jen is always calling her) but since Jen had been in the hospital for almost 4 weeks with her "bile duct" issue, I had to take Kaylene out trick or treating without her Mom (Jen was pretty sad). Fortunately our neighbor had a halloween outfit from last year that she let us use. So she was a monkey. Kaylene had

Here are some random pictures of Kaylene just hanging out around the house. I especially like the one above. Here she is so intently watching "Blue's Clues" that you can even seen "Steve" reflected in her eyes! Blue's clues is for sure her most favorite show so far. Make sure to check out the rest of the cute pics of her.

Multnomah Falls 2008

I've blogged about Multnomah Falls in the past and won't go over how wonderful of a place it is, but since some of my family had not been there, we all bunched up into the van and headed for the falls. Last time we were there several of us didn't make it to the top of the falls, so we re-commited ourselves and hiked all the way straight up to the top. All in all, it was tons of fun, mainly because

4th of July was Explosive, Really!

Ok, let me put it this way... Nancy, Sherry, Tony and I bought a lot of fireworks, BUT... my cousin Jon bought more fireworks than all of us combined! We had all sorts of fireworks, small, medium, large and super large (mortars, you know like the ones you see on TV). Well, the whole evening was going just fine until... my friend Jessica accidently mistaken a mortar for a fountain and lit it on the

Mount St. Helens

One of the big events I was really looking forward to sharing with my family when they visited was to go to Johnston Ridge Observatory, which is the closest you can get to Mount St. Helens by car. We were fortunate enough for a member of our church to let us borrow their van for the trip, which made the whole experience that much easier and that much funner (yes, I said funner)! The only bad part of

We never had been to this water park in Clackamas before, so when my family was visiting for the 4th of July, we all decided to give it a try. Well we all had tons of fun. Kaylene is 18 Months

Not to take away from the seriousness of the situation with Tandy, but today Kaylene is 18 months old! Besides I know Tandy would want me to publish this anyway! Is twitter a good idea? Yes or No?

So I gave twitter a chance for more than a week and this is what I have to say: I like it's simplicity, and is really fun to use, however the amount of time put into it versus how much my visitors get back in return is way too little. So I'll try to post more smaller blogs post more often and still include the regular posts as well. I want to hear from you. Am I making a good move or do you really

Now I can post those quick fun things about Kaylene or anything else in my life without having to do a blog post

A Day at the Park

Today was amazingly beuatiful weather here in the Northwest. Jen thought that since Kaylene is a little older now and can walk and understand things more now, that we should take her to the park. What can I say but a "pictures says a thousand words". You can see how much she loved it. Jo Jo's Baseball Game

As a "cover" to my parents 40th wedding anniversary, we told my parents they needed to travel to the bay area for Jo Jo's baseball game. Joey is one of the coaches and Jo Jo plays 3 base mostly, however he did play one inning as Pitcher, in which he did a very great job. He also did well up to bat with an RBI during one of the innings. I got a lot of great photos, especially several where you can see

Today we took Kaylene to the mall for her very first Carousel ride. How did she like it? Well from what I've heard... her reaction was quite typical: scared! She was doing fine until the ride actually started to move and then she started to cry something fierce, but fortunately for her it was over pretty quickly. Oh well, at least we got pictures and video to document the event!

Rather than keep Kaylene away from the apparent dangers of the stairs, over the past weeks I've been slowly helping and supervising her play on the stairs. Trip to San Jose just Because

Pfleghaar's Visit to the Couv
